Ceramic spray wax: months of protection in 20 minutes
3 October 2026 · 4 min read

A modern SiO2 (silica) spray sealant bonds to clean paint in minutes and beads water for four to six months. Compared with traditional paste wax, you trade a little depth of gloss and warmth for dramatically easier application and longer real-world durability.
Application
Step by step
- ▸Start with freshly washed, clayed and fully dried paint — sealant locks in whatever is underneath.
- ▸Work panel by panel: two or three sprays on the panel (or on the towel), spread with one microfiber, buff with a second dry one.
- ▸Flip your buffing towel often. A clean side streaks less than a loaded one.
- ▸Let it cure 12–24 hours before the first rain if possible — most coatings reach full water behaviour after a cure cycle.
Reapply every 3–4 months, or when water stops beading on the horizontal panels. Use it on glass, trim and wheels too — most ceramic sprays are safe there and make everything easier to clean.
What to avoid
- ▸Applying in direct sun or on hot paint — instant streaking.
- ▸Over-applying: more product does not mean more protection, just more buffing.
- ▸Skipping decontamination — a clay bar first is the difference between 'nice' and 'glassy'.
- ▸Stacking incompatible products (paste wax over ceramic) — pick one protection system.
